'Vellithirai' tells the sad story of an assistant director who has a raw deal because his story is stolen. The climax of the film however is in contrast and is stolen from an English film.

In 'Udayaanu Thaaram,' Srinivasan refuses to cooperate in the shooting, so Mohanlal and his crew hide and shoot the sequences without Srinivasan's knowledge. This scene that lasts more than 15 minutes, is copied from a Hollywood film.

It is ironical that a film that deals with stolen scripts has a stolen climax!
