Expecting a mouthful of joyful speeches, we were astounded to see that producer Srinivasan who is suffering from finance problems, opened out his heart and spoke about his troubles.
"I was into so much financial mess and struggling to go ahead with the film. Some friends came forward to help me. They were the gods who came to help me in my times of need, most important being Arjun." It touched our hearts to see the gratitude in his eyes.
This Srinivasan who is making films despite financial hassles is none other than the son of Mani Iyer who produced many films starring MGR. The other son is cameraman Shiva, who is wielding the camera for 'Aanai.'
Back to the function...
The function took place at the a/c theater in AVM. The first cassette was released by Sathyraj and received by Thyagarajan, president of the Producers Association.
Poet Vali, Ibrahim Routher, Sibiraj, film's director Selva, music director D Iman, heroines Namitha, Kirthi Chawla, and many others participated in the function. Though hero Arjun was unable to attend the function, the VIPs duly expressed their appreciation for his help to the producer.
"If any producer has problems, the first person to come running to the sangam is Srinivasan. We can't bear to see such a nice man shed tears today. For his goodness, we sincerely wish the film is a great success,' blessed everyone who attended the function.
"Arjun may be shorter than Sathyaraj, but when he lent a helping hand to a producer in grief, he grew in stature. Every drop of sweat shed, should be the root of victory," said Vali in his usual poetic fashion.
"The script has to be good, for the film to run. 'Baba' script was bad, that's why it was a flop. Because the script for 'Chandramukhi' was good, the film was a success. When this is the case for even a Rajini film, directors should pay special attention to the script. The trailer of the film suggests that the script is good. My fervent wishes that this film should cross a 100 day run," blessed Sathyaraj.
The a/c room was cool enough but Namitha's presence raised the temperature. She wore a knee length dress and provided a feast for the cameras clicking away!
