Krishna is the hero of 'Alibaba.' The son of 'Pattiyal' Sekar and younger brother of Vishnuvardhan, he has done his MBA in the US. He has also acted as a child star in 'Anjali' and 'Iruvar.' He has done the hero role in Santosh Sivan's 'Terrorist.'
After going to US for higher studies, he has also received training in acting to do the hero role in 'Alibaba.' Janani from Mumbai makes her debut as heroine. Prakashraj comes in an important role. Others in the cast include Azhagamperumal, Radha Ravi, Biju Menon, comedy Jeeva, TV Lakshmi, Manobala and others.
Cinematography is by Dinesh Kumar. He is the assistant of popular Hindi cinematographer Vinod. An action story, 'Alibaba' shooting has taken place in Chennai, Pondicherry and is over now. Prakashraj plays the father and Krishna is his son.
Recently a fight sequence has been shot at a fertiliser plant. During the shooting, many in the unit fell sick. Producer Sekar is all appreciation that despite feeling unwell, everyone in the unit cooperated and completed the shooting.
The papers are full of news of women being subject to sexual harassment. The director says this forms the core of the story.
