Suspecting foul play Vadivelu met the Commissioner of Police and filed a complaint.  In the complaint he said: ‘they have cheated me to the tune of Rs.7 crore by showing fake documents for the land that was not there. I have requested them to take immediate action.’

Coming out after meeting the Commissioner Vadivelu met the press persons and said “I have made people laugh.  But my life has now become a laughing stock.  In a film I used to claim in a comedy scene “the well is missing, the well is missing”.  Likewise I now have documents, but the land is missing and I am searching for it.  Two actors who had acted with me have cheated me.  Now I have made a complaint”.   Answering to a question if it was Singamuthu who cheated him he said “the police will take appropriate action”.  All through he refused to name Singamuthu by name.
