Produced by Abhirami Ramanathan, Nasser and Jayaram play important roles in the film. Saranya Mohan plays the heroine role. She is on the search for her grandfather. But her search is fruitless and in disappointment, she tries to jump from a hill and end her life.
The place where she falls is Marichan's tomb. Who is this Marichan? The very same one from the Ramayana where he takes the form of a magical deer to lure Rama away into the forest in chase, to clear the field for Ravana to abduct Seetha. The very same Marichan, who takes his life at the guilt of his actions.
Marichan saves Saranya Mohan and tries to help her find her rich grandfather Nasser. There's an Idumban character in the film. Kalabhavan Mani was to do the role but circumstances bade otherwise, so director Raju Eswaran himself dons the role.
A song sequence was shot with Saranya Mohan. It was choreographed by Gayatri Raghuram, ex-actress and daughter of dance master Raghuram.
