Since he is not a familiar name as he has not done that many films, we wonder who this Udaya is. But he has been striving for the past 10 years to get a turning point in his career. He feels 'Poova Thalaya' has given him that edge now and he's none other than the son of producer A L Azhagappan. His elder brother is director Vijay of 'Kireetam' and 'Poui Solla Porom' fame.
'Poova Thalaya' directed by Sanjay Ram has 2 heroes – one is Udaya and other is Krishna. Music is by Peter John. The audio release took place yesterday. Luminaries present include The President of Producers Association D Ramanarayanan, A C Shanmugam, actors Shaam, Arun Vijay, Karan, Ranjith and others.
Everyone who spoke mentioned that Udaya was always talking about movies and thinking about them too. He has not received proper opportunities till now and 'Poova Thalaya' will set that drawback right.
Udaya's moving speech brought a mellow atmosphere into the auditorium.
"Though actors like Arun Vijay and I hail from a cinema background, we cannot sustain ourselves if we do not have talent. But we should also get the right opportunities to show our skills. I feel 'Poova Thalaya' has given me that chance to prove myself. I am deeply grateful to Mr. Sanjay Ram for that. Like Ram Gopal Varma, he is a versatile director. Like me, Krishna will also get a good name through this film.
If I get the right opportunities, I will even forego my acting fee to prove my acting abilities. For acting, I will do anything, it's my whole life. Please make use of the talent of actors like me," he said earnestly, bringing a lump to many throats in the audience.
Karan said, "Udaya's belief and aim will surely see him grow into a great actor," and we also fervently hope these words come true!
