A meeting was held yesterday at Film Chamber to discuss this issue. Executives of the Producers Association, Distributors Association and Theatre Owners Association were present. Officer of the tax department cleared their doubts.

Cinema light men earn only Rs.200 a day. They do not have work half the days in a month. So the request was to remove TDS deduction for them. This was accepted by the tax official. Those earning very less in the film field have been awarded tax exemptions.

If those producers, who suffer big losses, submit correct applications, they will also be given tax exemptions, assured the official.
