“I have been receiving many film offers. But they have all been villain roles or character roles. Just a 3 day or 5 day call sheet would do and I could make lots of money, but for how long can I act like this?”
Karan’s steadfast refusal of many offers and waiting patiently for that one particular film paid off when director Prabhu Solomon knocked on his door. Impressed with the script of ‘Kokki,’ Karan lived with it for 6 months.
“In ‘Kokki,’ I play the character of Kokkisamy, who is a hairdresser. I took training in hairdressing for this. Director Prabhu Solomon said it would nice if the character looks dark. So I exposed myself to the sun on my terrace for many hours to put on a tan. I also went shirtless to the beach in the hot mid day sun to become dark.”
When ‘Kokki’ gets released later this month, Karan will reap the benefits of the efforts he has put in.
