Popular Tamil film actor Murali dies of heart attack.

46 years old Murali is the son of well known Kannada director and producer Siddhalingiah. Introducedby K.Balachander’s assistant Amir Jan in 1984 Murali acted in his first Tamil film ‘’Poovilangu’ followedby ‘Pahalnilavu’ directed by Mani Ratnam’ As both became hits he became very popular. Murali hadacted in some Kannada movies in 1980. Becoming popular in Tamil cinema he had acted in many filmsincluding ‘Thangamani Rangamani’, ‘Pudhu vasandham’, ‘Paalam’, ‘Naanum indha oorthan’, ‘Pudhiyakaatru’., ‘Mannukkul vairam’, ‘En aasai raasave’ and many more to become one of the leading heroes.
He has acted in more than 80 films both in Tamil and Kannada. Lately he appeared as a guest artist inthe film ‘Baana kaathadi’ introducing his son Atharva as a the hero. He had done roles in films with Sivaji Ganesan, Vijayakanth, Prabhu, Sathyaraj, Suryaa, Sarath Kumar and Mammootty.
He had done the role of a college student in the film ‘Idhayam’. As it was a celebrated performance, he acted as a college student in many films. His innocent face and soft spoken manners gave the image of a romantic hero in Tamil cinema. He was conferred with the title ‘Kalaimamani’ and he has also won the Best Actor award of the Government of Tamilnadu.
He fell in love with the Kannda actor Shoba and married her on the face of severe objections from hisfamily. His last film became the first film of his son where he had appeared in a guest role.
Murali has been living in Valsaravakkam in Chennai. He has left behind his wife Shoba, daughterKaavya, and sons Atharva and Akash. Given to getting up early morning, this morning when his wifewoke him, he did not respond. They took him to the hospital where he was declared to have been deadan hour before.
His body was brought back to the residence where he is kept for paying last respect. Several directors,producers and artists have come and paid their last respect there. The funeral will take place tomorrowmorning. The news of his death has left the Tamil cinema industry mourning.
