Kalaignar TV Channel has bought over the TV rights of the film 'Vellithirai' produced by Prakashraj and directed by Viji.

After the launch of Kalaignar TV channel, there is a big race to acquire TV rights of new films.  Kalaignar TV bought the rights of Prakashraj's 'Mozhi'.

Sun TV offered to buy 'Vellithirai' for Rs.2 crore.  On hearing this, Kalaignar  himself intervened and put in his offer for the rights for the same Rs.2 crore.

How could they ever refuse the Chief Minister?  Now the rights of 'Vellithirai' is with Kalaignar TV channel.

It is understood that this is the first time that a film with no known heroes is sold for such a high price.
