Ravi as well as Raja made their debut in ‘Jayam.' The film was a big hit. Following this, the brother duo came up with hits like ‘M Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi,' ‘Unakkum Enakkum' and ‘Santosh Subramaniam.' Surprisingly, all these films were hits.
Another surprise is, Ravi 's films that were hits were all directed by his brother Raja. But people's tongues will wag and the general comment was that all were re-makes and that's why they were hits. This undermined all the hard work that had gone into making these films.
This also got Raja the nickname of ‘Re-make Raja.' Rather bugged by this, he decided that he would make an original film and even did not take up the offer to do the Tamil re-make of ‘Jab We Met.'
Raja is busy working on an original Telugu film starring Prabhas. He is quite determined to show everyone the stuff he's made of!
