The audio release took place yesterday at the Green Park Hotel, Chennai. Usually the music composers and lyricists are forgotten at such functions, but not so in this case.
It was nice to see the lighting of the lamp by Mrs. Ilayaraja, Mrs. Karthik Raja and Mrs. Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Composer Karthik Raja, lyricist Na Muthukumar and director Arpudhan briefed the gathering about the background of the songs after which the songs were played. The cassette was released by producer R B Chowdry and received by producer KRG, and Yuvan Shankar Raja.
Having got his first directorial break with 'Arpudham' produced by R B Chowdry, Arpudhan expressed his heartfelt gratitude, "At one time, it was because of Chowdry sir that there was food on my table." He said the original title of the film was 'Kudai,' but after hearing the lyrics, changed the title to 'Manadhodu Mazhaikalam.' He thanked Na Muthukumar for inspiration for the title.
"Karthik Raja is a genius. I wish all the songs in the film are big hits," said younger brother Yuvan Shankar Raja.
It is rare to see Shaam in films. Strangely, he was not seen even in his film audio release function.
