Celebrating 75 years of Indian cinema, a film panorama is also being conducted at Mayajaal on the East Coast Rd. Actors Jayam Ravi, Arun Vijay, MS Bhaskar, Alex, actresses Sneha, Kasthuri, Keerti Chawla and others released balloons and inaugurated the function.
The function started yesterday. It will be on for 3 days with 30 important international films being screened at 10 per day.
Speaking at the function, Jayam Ravi said, "I come from a film background. My father is an editor turned producer. When I was young, I used to make knife toy from film roll and play. Cinema is a wondrous thing. More than people in the film field, general public should know about films. Film festivals and exhibitions are ideal for that."
"It is 75 years since cinema came into being. Looking back, we can see so many achievers. There are so many giants of the industry like actors, actresses, directors, producers and so on. Such film festivals will reveal their worth to the people," said Sneha.
