A 100th film is a great occasion, so Sarath had invited everybody to the grand function at Le Meridien.
The front and drive of the hotel was decorated with Sarath's black and red fan club flags, with its labor symbol in the center.
The function started exactly at 9am. All the producers, directors, actors, actresses and film world personalities who had worked with Sarath, were present.
Sarath honored those who had come to wish him, with a silk shawl. Clad in a glittering silk sari and flashing her dazzling smile, Radhika welcomed the guests. The function started with a dance program, followed by excerpts from his films and then the trailer of 'Thalaimagan.'
After that, producer Radhika, director Balaji, screenplay writer Cheran, hero Sarath, heroine Nayantara, poet Vali, director K S Ravikumar, producer R B Chowdry, actors Karthik and Vadivelu, ascended the dais.
Karthik had this to say. "Instead of saying Sarath is my friend, I should say he's my boss. Since acting in his film 'Kann Simittum Neram,' I have been moving with him for the past 20 years. He's not only a good actor, he's a good human being too. Whatever he thinks, will happen. He has another big job ahead of him. He will definitely succeed in that. I will tell you what it is at the celebration function of 'Thalaimagan'" and we were reminded of the fan club festoons outside the hotel
Vairamuthu said, "Kalaignar's young son Sarath has started his 100th film today, on the birthday of Anna, chief protégé of Periyar. While others only feign to be strong, Sarath's physique itself personifies strength. He keeps his strength and heart under control and will easily celebrate the success of his 200th film."
After Sarath was felicitated by R B Chowdry, K S Ravikumar and others, a souvenir to mark Sarath's 100th film function was released.
