Even newcomers who have recently made their film debuts like to project themselves as top shots in this day and age. Even though the Ulaga Nayakan has everything that it takes to project himself as a top shot, he has made modesty his virtue.
Kamal is one of the first actors, who transformed his fan club into a charity institution whereby fans did not just whistle and cheer him on but also engaged in helpful activities.
There have been complaints against R Gunaseelan that opposite to Kamal's aims was what was happening under his leadership.
It is learnt that other executives of the fan club have complained to Kamal that Gunaseelan was not discharging his duties properly and not conveying required information to Kamal about the fan club members. Hence Kamal says he has removed Gunaseelan from his position as State Secretary of Kamal Haasan Narpani Iyakkam.
"For the 'Kamal Narpani Iyakkam, Gunaseelan has been working as the State Secretary, D John as the Secretary for South Madras and D Raju as Secretary of Namakkal district.
From Aug 13, 2008 the three of them have been relieved from their duties. Members of the district and State branches are requested not to have any contact with them from now on and to carry on their duties like before, till new executives are appointed," said Kamal in his statement.
