'Nenjathai Thodu' director Raj Kannan had the script ready for 'Sankara' and was hunting for a suitable hero. He could not find anyone when his eyes fell on the 'Ayyan' poster. Seeing the actor who looked like a slimmer version of Paruthiveeran, Raj Kannan felt he had found his hero.
He called to find out the identity of the actor and was surprised to learn that it was Vasan Karthik, who had acted in 'Maamadurai.' He had developed into this strong looking guy from his original baby face appearance. He narrated the story of 'Sankara' to him and got his call sheet too.
