Ilayaraja files complaint against record company
- 19.03.2010
Yesterday, Isaignani Ilayaraja filed a police complaint to Commissioner Rajendran.
“I’m filing this complaint against Echo Recording. I have also filed a complaint regarding this at the Producers Association. According to the petition: In consultation with producers of Tamil films, we gave the audio release rights of cassettes and CDs of Tamil and Telugu songs composed by me to Echo Recording Company. Without giving the rightful dues to the producers and me, this company has been continuing to enjoy all the benefits. It has sold the release rights of the music I composed for a Telugu film to a company called Aditya for crores. They did this without seeking our permission. Without the permission of the producers and me, this company has been releasing music broad in cities like New York and London for all the films through a company called Oriental Records. We have not been given a share of the gains through this business deal either.”
