It was reported in the media that 'Marmayogi' was dropped because of budget hassles and he would so start work on a new project 'Thalaivan Irukkiran.' Today, a formal announcement has been made by Kamal, regarding both films.
"It is not true as reported in the media, that 'Marmayogi' has been dropped. For certain reasons, the shooting has been stopped temporarily. The film has not been shelved at all. After clearing some points, there is no doubt that shooting for 'Marmayogi' will resume.
The next film I'm going to direct is 'Thalaivan Irukkindraan' and not 'Thalaivan Irukkiran.' We are busy selecting the cast and technical crew. Once that has been finalized, a formal announcement will be made."
