Wearing a seductive dress, Aishwarya Rai is creating waves at Cannes, blowing kisses to the crowd. Acting in films like ‘Jhansi Rani,’ ‘Jodha Akbar’ and ‘Guru,’ efforts are on to get her into another historic story.

Don’t imagine that historic means the times of Asoka. It is to do with the quite recent story of Rajiv Gandhi and Sonia. The 3 actresses singled out to play the role of Sonia are foreign actress Carla Gugino, Preity Zinta and Aishwarya Rai.

We refer to Murali Manohar who produced ‘Jeans’ and ‘Provoked.’ The director is Jugmohan Mundhra who directed ‘Provoked.’ Written by Rahseen Kidwai, the story line follows Sonia Gandhi’s life. Mundra says it’s an out and out romantic film and there will be absolutely no hint of politics.
