No problem with Mani Ratnam: Cinematographer clarifies
- 20.05.2009
Mani Ratnam is producing and directing 'Ravanan' starring Vikram and Aishwarya Rai. It's being made in Hindi too. For both language versions, Manikantan wielded the camera. When about half the film was complete, he opted out of the film.
Manikantan speaks about this.
"The shooting of 'Ravanan' should have ended in March. Due to some reasons, the shooting extended for a few more days. I had already given my call sheet for a Hindi film of Shah Rukh Khan. That shooting starts in June. That film needs a lot of research to be done. After that, I am working in Farah Khan's film 'Happy New Year' starring Shah Rukh Khan, who is producing both films. Since I've already set aside dates for both these films, I had to opt out of 'Ravanan.' I do not have any problems with Mani Ratnam at all."
In place of Manikantan, Santosh Sivan will do the cinematography for 'Ravanan.' After 'Dalpathy,' Mani Ratnam and Santosh Sivan team up in this film
