The demand for sensual films remains unabated. X rated Malayalam films used have a great demand in Tamilnadu. After that, there was a demand for hot Hindi films, all of which were dubbed in Tamil. An example is 'C U At 9' starring Mallika Sherawat in which she gives some hot kisses. The dubbed film ran for a 100 days.
Recent dubbed Hindi films including 'Jodha Akbar' did not do well. So, the eye of distributors is now on low cost glamour, titillating films that will give good returns.
A 2005 film starring Mallika Sherawat and Rekha has been released in Tamil as Mallika Kamini. The story is about 2 women seduce rich men and cheat them.
The same year saw the release of 'Fareb' starring Shipla Shetty, her sister Shamita Shetty and Manoj Bajpai that is to be released in Tamil as 'Kama Sathi Leelavathi.'
Both films are about illicit relationships and full of glamour scenes that have earned them 'A' certificates. Businessmen hope that the returns films with stories did not give, would be made good through films with glamour bodies.
If that does come true, it will indicate that our tastes are not what they should be!
