Amidst the many heroines who come and go, Asin is proud that she's a heroine with a difference. "In the films 'Ghajini,' 'Pokkiri,' 'Maja' and 'Sivakasi' my role had importance." She means that she is not in films to just look pretty and sing duets like other heroines.
There is a rumour that Asin is to star in 'Kallapart' in the role turned down by Trisha. Other rumours have it that Asin wanted to act in the Hindi version of 'Ghajini' and in the Telugu 'Shankardada Zindabad' but it did not work out. What does Asin have to say on that?
"I was never invited to star in the Hindi 'Ghajini.' Likewise for 'Shankardada.' What you are saying is something cooked up by some people. Like it is said I'm charging exorbitant fees. Producers discuss rates with me based on my market value. If it is agreeable to me, I accept the offer. I do not demand for this or that."
Asin is right now acting only in Kamal's 'Dasavataram.' Talks are on to act with Surya in 'Vel' plus a few other films. Asin will make a formal announcement once matters are finalized.
