Soundarya may have passed, but the Karnataka and Andhra film world has not forgotten her. Every year the Karnataka-Andhra Lalita Kala Akademi gives away an award to best actress in Soundarya’s name. Actor Saikumar heads the organization.
“Neither Soundarya’s family nor the film world can still get over Soundarya’s death. If she had been alive, she would have achieved so much and received so many awards for her hard work. In her memory, the Karnataka-Andhra Lalita Kala Akademi has decided to give the Soundarya Award every year to the best actress.”
Sneha has been chosen to receive the Soundarya Award this year at a function to take place at Bellary in Karnataka on April 2. Venkaiah Naidu, Telugu actors Junior NTR, Sudeep, Srikanth, Ravi Teja, Tarun and others are expected to participate in the function.
In the Telugu and Kannada field, Sneha has filled Soundarya’s place, even in the roles Soundarya should have done. Hence the choice of Sneha for the award, says Saikumar.
