Shenbaga Kumar of Cool Productions produced 'Pudichirukku' and then the Shakti-Sandhya film 'Mahesh Sharanya Mattrum Palar.' Following this he produces 'Arumugam.'
It is directed by Suresh Krishna who has directed Kamal in 'Sathya' to 'Indiran Chandran,' Rajini in 'Veera,' 'Annamalai,' 'Basha' and 'Baba,' Vijayakanth in 'Gajendra,' Sarath Kumar in 'Oruvan' as well as many other films in 5 languages of Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Having delivered hit songs in 'Annamalai' and 'Basha,' Deva teams up with Suresh Krishna in this film too. This is what Suresh Krishna has to say about 'Arumugam.'
"The hero Bharath has a roadside idli stall. His aim in life is to fulfill the dream of his late mother. Priya Mani is his love interest and Sharanya Mohan is his sister. Bharth and Priya Mani live together before marriage in the film. Her character will be rather new in this film.
A female character is like a crowning glory for this film. That's a millionairess. Bharath is an ordinary guy. If he competes with another shop owner, it is not quite attention grabbing. He however clashes with a super rich lady. That's a powerful character. I wondered who would fit the role and Ramya Krishnan's name came to mind. She immediately accepted the role when I narrated the story to her. This film should be a turning point in her comeback."
