After 'Mirugam' Samy is directing a film with Rajikiran. IDI Films, the producer of 'Rameswaram is producing this film too.
It is well known that Samy is banned for one year from directing films in the matter of ill treating Padmapriya. Once the ban is removed, Samy is eager to direct his next movie.
He had chosen two titles such as 'Asan' and 'Ayyanar' for his new film. But Vijayakanth's side had preempted his 'Asan' title with a title 'Engal asan'.
The director of 'Kiridam' has already registered the title 'Ayyanar' in the Film Chamber and he has refused to part with the title.
Therefore, Samy has now titled his film 'Sarithiram'.
