Directed by Solomon of 'King' fame, the film is being produced by Sethu, T Gopinath, Dhiraj Koh and R Balasubramaniam. The heroine Sanjana has already made a name for herself as a good actress in Bengali films.

Sanchana The function where Kamal introduced Karan as the hero, took place at the Traders Hotel, Chennai. With overgrown hair, unshaved beard and mustache, and a drastically reduced physique, Karan looked different in his get up as he greeted visitors to the function.

Kamalhasan,Sakthikumar, Kiran Kamal who arrived a little late, first excused himself for coming late before expressing his good wishes. "I already noticed in 'Nammavar' that Karan is a good actor. Now he has got a hero's role and he's sure to hook into people's hearts like the title 'Kokki' suggests," said Kamal briefly. In great delight, Karan honored him with a life size garland!

After the function was over, we brought Sanjana from the dais to the ground level to face the camera. She did not disappoint with her varied poses and lack of shyness. "I hope someone will notice me too," we heard a voice coming in the direction of Karan!
