Having acted in more than 1000 films, Manorama is set to act as a eunuch in this film. Kovai Sarala, Saranya Pushpavanam Kuppusamy, Abhishek, Madanbob, Mayilsamy, Maran, Ram, Nagabushanam, Thindivanam Subramanian, Kinnakorai Raj, all appear in important character roles along with newcomer hero Sanjay. Hunt is on for the 3 appropriate heroines.
Thankar Bachan was cinematographer of 'Malaisaaral' and joined hands with Indran in 'Kaadhale Nimmadhi.' In 'John,' Thankar's assistant KC Rajesh will wield the camera.Deva's disciple M.M Vijayakumar, a student of Tirupathi Sri Venkateswara Music College, makes his debut as music composer. Story, screenplay, dialogue, direction and lyrics are by Indran.
'John' is the true story of a young man who was born in Nilgris, left the place to pursue higher studies, becomes a software engineer, and finishes off his life when he's 34.
Songs are to be picturised in London and Canada. The shooting will start next month and will finish in one schedule in readiness for an April release. The inauguration took place on Dec 16 at AVM Studios.
Hundreds of Badugar community members from Nilgris were invited for the function that took place with their usual song and dance. Nine eunuchs lit the ahal lamps and welcomed Manorama with a shower of flowers. It was a novel and gladdening sight to behold.
