Raja was born in Coimbatore, raised in Andhra, had higher education in the US and became hero in Telugu film field, so he seems to be well qualified already.
"I hail from Dharapuram in Coimbatore. Because of my father's business, it is about 27 years since we settled in Andhra. From a young age I have been interested in acting, so I did a 4 year course in films in the US.
My first film was a Rama Naidu production. Shriya was my heroine in one film; one film was directed by Singeetham Srinivasa Rao; one frilm with Genelia…so I've been a solo hero from the beginning. Apart from his, I have acted in 8 films with 2 hero subject.
My recently released Telugu film 'Ananad' is responsible for my getting the role in 'Kanna.' I liked the songs in the films so I accepted the offer without listening to the story. This first step I have taken into Tamil films is a new experience for me," says Raja, who also has ideas to produce a Tamil film and act in it as hero.
What type of character would you like to play?
"I don't want to get stuck in an image. I can do any role. I would like to act in a 'Paruthiveeran' type of character."
Raja, way to go!
