Starring Vikram and Trisha, the film is produced by AM Rathnam and directed by Lingusamy. Dubbed in Telugu, it should have been released day after tomorrow in Andhra. The financier SPN Krishnamurthy has now filed a case in the High Court.

"For producing 'Bheema,' AM Rathnam asked for a loan of 75 lakhs. With the condition that I must be given the releasing rights in Andhra, I lent the amount. Now, he is involved in releasing the film in Andhra.

When I asked for my release right, he refused and he also has not returned my 75 lakhs. So there should be a stay order on the Telugu release," is the content of the case. Rajeswaran, the judge handling the case has slapped a 3 week stay order on release of the film. He has sent notice to AM Rathnam to file his counter petition.

In the first week, 'Bheema' has grossed 19 crores. Distributors say that equals the first week collections of 'Sivaji.' In Thiruvarur, 'Vel' grossed 2.5 crores and 'Billa' 3.5 crores in the first week. 'Bheema' eclipsed these records by making 5 crores.
