'Abhiyum Naanum' is produced by Duet Movies and directed by radha Mohan, It stars Prakashraj and Trisha. Music is by Vidyasagar. Lyrics are by Vali. The audio release took place this morning at Chennai's Kalaignar Arangham. Since the story is about a father and daughter, M Karunanidhi and his daughter Kanimozhi were chief guests.
It was beautiful to see the father release the audio and the daughter accepting it.
"Nowadays, all films seem to have the elements of comedy, sadness and love stuffed into it. This is not necessary. Art is not a department store. What is made with good message is what stays. One must make films that portray real lives. A father is an important person in a daughter's life. How the father understands her and brings her up is important. When looking at a daughter without faith, his self confidence also is affected. In that way, my father has never asked me to give up my faith. A father should treat a daughter like a friend. This film portrays this beautifully and will definitely be received well," said Kanimozhi.
After enjoying his daughter's speech, Kalaignar spoke. "Voice is important for an audio release function. I have a sore throat and the doctor has advised me to not speak much. But I must do my duty. A few years back when I was presenting awards at a function, I met Prakashraj. He was staring at me. I stared back at him. That's because he acted as me in 'Iruvar.' Directed by Mani Ratnam, it was supposed to depict MGR and me.
That time, I was the CM. I was advised by many to put a ban on the film. But I said, this is a free country. Anyone can make a film. It's their right. That's why Prakashraj is still a friend. So, if people like a movie, it will run well. No one put a ban on that."
