"No, no, I'm not for glamour," or "If the story demands it, I will do a glam role," are changes of mind that actresses are known to have according to the season.

Gopika is one person, who has maintained through out that she will not do glamour roles. But a rumour made the rounds of her acting quite glamorously in 'Vellithirai.'

We asked her about that...

"There is one more song to be shot for 'Vellithirai.' We were supposed to go abroad for shooting that. Since it is too cold there, the idea was given up. Now we have decided to shoot at Munnar. I'm acting as an actress. You asked me if I've done a glamour role. I have not done such roles till now. Just because I'm portraying an actress, who said I've to show glamour? In reality also I'm an actress but have avoided showing myself off in glamour.

That's how I've acted in 'Vellithirai' also. One has to bring viewers out of the mindset that an actress necessarily means glamour. My role in 'Vellithirai' will be testimony to that.

I am acting in a Malayalam film titled 'Malabar Waiting.' The hero is Indrajit, the elder brother of Prithviraj. The story is about a girl born and raised in Kolkata marrying a man from Kerala. I'm also acting in a varied role in 'Kaviyam' that's being made with an award in mind. The shooting for that has not yet started."
