'Katheparayumpol' is being transformed into 'Kuchelen' at the hands of P Vasu.  This film is jointly produced by Kavithalaya and Seven Arts.

Kavithalaya was scared when it was reported that Pasupathi was the hero of the film and that Rajini's was only a guest appearance.  It felt that it was going to be difficult to do a deal.

P Vasu made a lot of changes in the story and made 'Kuchelan' a Rajini film.  Shooting for the film is being currently happening in Ramoji Rao Film City.  A gigantic set was recently erected for shooting the dance number of Rajini and Nayantara.

Even before the completion of the film, 'Kuchelan' is sold for a very good price.  Pyramid Saimira Company has bought the Tamil and Telugu distribution rights of the film for Rs.65 crore.

There were three corporate bodies, who were competing to buy 'Kuchelan'.  One company bid it for Rs.53 crore and the other for Rs.63 crore and finally Pyramid Saimira clinched the deal for Rs.65 crore.

It is learnt that the expenses for both Tamil and Telugu versions of the film would be around Rs.40 crore and that both Kavithalaya and Seven Arts would make a profit of Rs.15 crore individually.
