Like Film Producers' Association and Nadigar Sangam, the Directors' Association is a strong industry body. Any issues among producers and directors, actors and directors are being resolved by this Association.

Office bearers are being elected every 2 and half years and as such the next election for the office bearers will be held on 12th.
It is expected that S.A Chandrasekar will stand down and make way for the newly elected office bearers. It is learnt that Bharatiraja would be elected unanimously as the President and R.K Selvamani would be elected as the Vice President.
