Pyramid Saimira has given an explanation as to why this flashback is needed now. That's because 'Otrai Reel Iyakkam' writer Gnani's Gnanbanu direction was started by Pyramid Saimira.

They have decided to screen short 10 minute films before commencing feature films in some theatres to help viewers appreciate the merits of such films. The first in this endeavor was Gnani's one reel film 'Thirumathi James Ippodhu Enna Seiyya Vendum' featuring Nilasun and Rohini that was screened this morning at Chennai's Woodlands theatre.

It was inaugurated by writer Ashokamitran. Others present were directors Ameer, Vasanthabalan, Radha Mohan, actor Sathyraj and others.

Praising the film, Sathyaraj said, "To convey a message in a 10 minute film that too in just one shot is a very difficult thing. My accolades to Gnani, who has done this admirably. So many are called 'Gnani.' I'm called 'Puratchi Thamizhan,' a title that even Thiruvalluvar who wrote 1330 Kurals did not have. In that aspect, writer Gnani truly deserves the title of Gnani. I am ready to act in a one reel film without taking an acting fee."

When he proceeded to ask Gnani when he proposed to make a full length film, the audience roared in laughter!
