Presented by T Ramarao for Srilakshmi Productions, and produced by T Ajay Kumar, 'Malaikottai' was directed by G Boopathy Pandian with Vishal and Priya Mani in the lead.
The film was a hit for the first week after release but ran to near empty houses after that before picking up again. After this up and down fortunes, the film has finally become a success.
The 125 day run of the film will be celebrated on May 1 at Music Academy in Chennai. The function will be headed by Producers Association President Ramanarayanan. Other producers like AVM Saravanan, KRG, SA Chandrasekhar, Bhagyaraj, Prabhu and Parthiban will participate.
The cast and crew of the film will be awarded with mementos.
