There was animosity from Vishal's end that Lingusamy not only exceeded the budget of ‘Sandakozhi' but he also pocketed a sizeable commission. They continued to express their animosity through various veiled means.
There's a rumour that at a marriage function, Lingusamy addressed Vishal as "Ennadaa" and in response, Vishal snapped back, "Don't you dare call me vaadaa or podaa,. Call me sir with respect." Now there's a new contention between these two snarling parties.

Hearing about it, Lingusamy hastened to the Producers Association. "It is not right that a film I wrote and directed has been sold to another without my knowledge. So action has to be taken against Vishal and others concerned with this," he said in his complaint.
