H Viswanath was a member of former Karnataka CM, SM Krishna. He wrote the book titled 'Halli Hakki Haadu' in which there are many inside references to SM Krishna. One is about how Krishna was in love with actress Saroja Devi and that's why in the 2004 elections, he made her a Congress candidate.
In order to ensure a victory in the forthcoming elections, Congress is attempting to get Governor SM Krishna into the election fray. At such a time, a book written by a former Congress minister that breaks the image of SM Krishna is creating havoc. There are protests through the state at Vishwanath's book.
When asked about the allegations in the book, Saroja Devi says she and Krishna were only friends and her god was her husband Varsha.
