Jeeva is the hero of the film and Poonam Bajwa is the heroine. For the first time Vavivelu will be acting in a Jeeva film and hence his character and the comedy scenes are set differently. What is more, Jeeva too in combination with Vadivelu is excelling in comedy action.
The popular Telugu actor J.D.Chakravarthy is appearing as villain Royapuram Sivamani. Others who are acting in the film include Azhagaperumal, Kaadhal Dhandapani, Karate Raja, Jeyamurali, Ranjani and Ravi Sachankar. Nisha Kothari has done a glamour dance item in the film. The director related the justification of the title ‘Kacheri arambam’ as under:
“In a concert many type of songs will be sung. Similarly this film will have several such aspects and hence the title.” He also indicated the story outline of the film: “the hero of the film is always ready to part with any thing asked for. With such a charitable person someone comes and asks for his own sweetheart. What would he do? This is the story of ‘Kacheri arambam’” says the director.
Jeeva, a villager coming to Chennai to find a job settles to work for Vadivelu’s shop in Burma Bazaar. The director wanted to shoot these important scenes at Burma Bazaar itself. But finding it difficult, they erected a set at the Film city at a cost of Rs.40 lakhs and shot the scenes.
There are 5 songs in the film. Na.Muthukumar and Viveka have written two songs each and one song by director Thiraivannan. He is the lyricist for the song ‘theriyaame unnai patthuputten’ in the film ‘Thiruvilayadal arambam’. They have chosen huge palaces to picturise the sequences of the song ‘kadavule kadavule meendum naan piranthuvitten.’ The director has shot this song sequences using the” 1000 Frames” technique, which is the first attempt of its kind in Indian cinema.
The song ‘vaada vaada paiya’ was shot at a set in the Film City in Hyderabad at a cost of Rs.60 lakhs. Nisha Kothari had danced with Jeeva for this song. They have spent Rs.1 crore to picturise this song sequence.
The climax of ‘Kacheri arambam’ is designed in such a way that will be greatly appreciated by the audience. Over and above the fighting sequences, they have also added some emotional scenes in the climax of the film.
