'Manjal Veyil'
A wedding. Friends and relatives are invited for it. There ensue pangs of love, clashes and the ensuing relay race is taken on track by the director.
Prasanna and Sandhya are classmates. Both of them go to Ooty for Sandhya's elder sister Tarika's wedding. But at the place, groom RK lusts after Sandhya and to attain her, he plans to kill Tarika.
When this information leaks out, Prasanna brings Sandhya to Chennai. So, does that mean Prasanna is Sandhya's lover? It is Bala, a knot in the screenplay. Bala is missing, so Prasanna goes in search of him. We also have villain RK casting his net for Sandhya. What happens finally forms the climax.
In not stepping out of the story or the director's instructions, Prasanna's acting is a beauty. The decent boundaries of friendship between him and Sandhya are a neat handiwork of the director. The characters of Prasanna and Sandhya are portrayed laudably.
The occasional knot in the film makes the story interesting. But the pace of the film is like a bullock cart traveling at its own pace on a national highway and makes for some impatience.
If this had been avoided, 'Manjal Veyil' would have shone more.
