Aindham Padai
This is yet another masala mixed up specially for Sundar C. Instaed of taking risks, he is doing what comes naturally to him.
Sundar C is one of 5 brothers played by Nasser, Mukesh, Todanna and Vivek. When issues crop up, Nasser follows the Gandhi principle while Sundar C goes the Subash Chandra Bose way. Simran is a Bharatanatyam teacher who gets enraged when Sundar C asks her to do kuthattam.
The irritating hero rescues her on an occasion and Simran slowly falls in love with him. When Nasser asks her if she would marry his younger brother, Simran thinks he is referring to Sundar C and goes into dreamland, singing duets with Sundar C. However, Nasser was referring to Mukesh. Only at the time of tying the thaali does she realize the groom is Mukesh and Simran falls at Sundar C's feet to stop the wedding. He refuses, so she challenges that she would tear the family apart.
Every one of Simran's plans work out but we know that the hero would finally win and so ends the film.
There is so much masala in the challenges and clashes between Simran and Sundar C that it is fortunate director Badri did not compose a fight scene between the two. Though action scenes suit Sundar C, falling a furlong away after a punch is unbelievable
Simran is good in her role of making the brothers trust her only to be duped by her sly, foxy ways. But the duet sequences are a bit over board. The heroine is newcomer Aditi. Poor girl does not know what she did in the film. After this characterless portrayal, hope she finds something better in her next film.
The episode of Mukesh's reactions when he goes to see a prospective bride, is full of laughs. Vivek is funny in parts. When the 5 brothers are involved in a scene, it's a wonder why 2 of them are always missing even in the important scenes.
This film is proof that only if D Iman tries very hard, he can come up with good music.
'Aindham Padai' lacks strength.
