Akku
For those directors and producers who make stupid films, a film like 'Akku' would appeal.
It is a miniscule story. To have touched the heights with that, it's not far off when the director would receive the Kalaimamani for that.
Ajay-Sriji are romantically involved. This is not favored by Sriji's brother who's a terrorist. Without using muscle power or money power, he plans to break up their love through brain power. Accordingly hew puts an electronic bomb in to the hero's shoe.
Oh, that is all...just when we think that all the hero has to do is throw out his shoe and get moving, the brainy director has something in store for us.
If he stops running, not only will he burst, but so would Chennai city break into pieces, warns the villain and the audience sits up and takes notice.
What would the hero do? How would he be saved? Tjose who want to know the answer to that have to pay a visit to the theatre and see for themselves.
So we have the running hero, followed by the police squad, a medical squad and bomb expert Anu Hassan all on the move and this pace continues through the film.
After watching the hero run so crazily for life, we feel as if we are ourselves dying of thirst from all that exertion we see on screen and the credit for that goes to the director.
Can one go on running like this? The director has also given a beautiful explanation for this in the screenplay.
Relishing watching the hero running and also dodging the police on the other hand, the villain Rex deserves mention. The graphics in the film are his handiwork.
The means used by the special police to find out where the heroine has been kidnapped, is also of interest. Watching the hero running all over the city and the media vans following him makes us feel sort of amazed.
Now there is confidence that one can give Maamani 10 crores in hand and he will create a good film worthy on a national level.
The film should run!
