Kadhalil Vizhundein
The movie tells the story of the dangers that extreme passion might cause. Helped by a little "naakku mukka," the director attempts to find a hook to the youth.
After escaping from a chasing crowd, the hero Nakulan escapes in a train, pushing a wheel chair with his sweetheart in a fainted state. He relates his love story flashback to the TTR played by Livingstone. After that, it is revealed that Nakulan is unstable.
When we realize that his sweetheart (Sunaina) is dead and that the crowd chasing him were the police, we get a shock. And that is the strong point of the screenplay. What follows is the fight between the police and extreme passion that ends the story.
Nakulan's performance makes us to say "Well done." Of course, this appreciation is limited to dance and action scenes. When it comes to dialogues, Nakulan's close up shows that he still has to go a long way.
Neither painfully lean nor over weight, pretty faced Sunaina is attractive. Though she appears for most part of the film as a corpse, her acting is lively.
Though there is logic in explaining the activities of the unstable hero, the basis of the story and the story telling method has a shade of another film and that creates dissatisfaction.
The climax has shades of films like 'Guna' and 'Kaadhal Kondein' that pushes back the corpse smell. Filling the balloon with breath and sending a message through that is a twenty year old concept. Killing a dozen people single handedly is a fight that makes us laugh.
The real hero of the film is the song "naakku mukka." Featuring it twice after having become a hit is like making a meal out of sugar. Vijay Antony proves that he is the melody king in the songs "thozhiyaa en kaadhaliyaa" and "un thalaimudi."
Cinematographer Vijay Milton deserves appreciation for several scenes include the fight scene on the winch.
'Kadhalil Vizhundhein' may not bite the dust.
