Kanden kadhalai
'Kanden kadhalai' is a remake of the Hindi film Jab We met. Shakthi, the son of businessman Rajasekaran, gets annoyed by her mother getting married to the auditor and starts drifting and gets into the train bound for Madurai. There comes Anjali. She comes to his help when confronted by the ticket examiner. Suddenly Shakthi gets out of the train in a station. Sympathy drives Anjali to follow suit and the train goes off without them. Accusing him of being the cause of her getting out of the train she holds him accountable to take her back to her house in Theni. Shakthi agrees to it hesitantly. Slowly they start liking each other.
They arrive at Anjali's house in Theni. But finding busy wedding preparations there, Anjali confides in him that she is about to go and seek her lover in his place. Having no choice, he accompanies her to Ooty. The household in Theni is greatly agitated. He leaves Anjali in Ooty and returns to Chennai. He realizes a change in him brought in by Anjali's relationship and becomes active with his mother in the business.
Having seen Shakthi in TV, Anjali's people missing her for 9 months demanded to know what he had done with her. Does he find Anjali and what happens to the love he discovers for her will be the rest of the story.
Bharat is very bright. But his hairstyle and the other get ups don't seem to be needed for the story. Thamannah has a much larger role and she is appearing in many more scenes. She seems to have excelled in some scenes, but she does not seen to be the native of Theni.
It is good that Tamannah has attempted to act smartly. Santhanam's get up and comedy both induce laughter. Director Kannan is an expert in the technique of story telling. What with the trouble of traveling to Theni from Madurai, the bath in the stream and dancing on the way are possible only in Tamil cinema. It is also cinema where alone a person who goes all the way to Ooty but can't stay any moment more. Again getting suddenly activated to find somebody missing for 9 months is too much.
