Sarvam
By a hair's breath, she misses her love and lover and this has been narrated in a wonderful glossy manner. Like an ugly girl made to don silk clothing, the second half of the film's screenplay is unsuitable and hence our interest also wanes.
Civil engineer Arya is in love with Dr. Trisha. Trisha's attitude of wanting and scorning Arya changes at one point into only wanting. But Satan enters their beautiful love and instead of the sacred yellow thread of marriage going around Trisha's neck, sharp thread does, ending Trisha's life. Arya's love dies with her and what remains forms the rest of the story.
Just like the Ooty flower show, the Trisha-Arya romance is a treat for the eyes. Trisha does not bother with Arya and he lets loose the butterflies in his shirt to surround her and in a song sequence shot in Hollywood style, he impresses as a comics hero.
When you are at the signal and you see a pretty girl enter Spencers Plaza and disappear…how would you feel? Like that, Trisha comes only for a brief while and her accident is something not shown in Tamil cinema. After Trisha's passing away, the screenplay changes to the thriller wheel. Only after succeeding scenes move sluggishly do we realize that the wheels are of a road roller.
When Arya starts in search of the man of Trisha's dreams, one can hear the naughty rasikas in the theatre reminding Arya that the building construction has stopped half way, reminding him of his job.
The dog is no scary that it looks like it will grab even an oxen's hoof and won't let go. It has acted so beautifully.
When Arya is ragging Trisha that he's going to jump from upstairs, Krishna calls him and asks, "Hey, buddy, I've booked tickets for a Simbu film. Coming?” Arya responds, "I'm going to jump.” Krishna says, "Don't do such things… I'll buy tickets for an Ajith film.” Immediately Arya answers, "OK, I'll walk down.” The rasikas get the point and clap!
The psycho type of character, the little boy, and his father attract attention. Songs, especially "siragugal vandhadhu engo…” and 'sila iravugal iravugaldhaan” are wonderful. Nirav Shah's cinematography is super.
If there had been depth in the second half of the screenplay, everything about 'Sarvam' would have been enjoyable.
