Maybe fans are seeing 'Chandramukhi' at least half a dozen times, and in the process scrutinizing the film so intently that each one can author a book on how not to write a screenplay! Here are the top 10 mistakes that one such rasika has come up with.
1. If it is strongly believed that chandramugi ghost lives in that palace what is the necessasity for Nayandara to live there with her grandfather. In that village, does she not get any place for teaching the children? if it is ghost surrounded palace will the parents send their children to that place for learning music?
2. Everyday night Ganga ( jothika) goes to upstairs and dance like chandramuki. Why she does not try to kill Prabhu in the night while she comes back or goes to upstair. When the life is saved by saravanan ( rajini kanth) twice she (chandramuki) never makes an attempt to take revenge on Rajini.
3. Initially Prabhu agrees that he will not go to upstairs. But lateron once it is known that his wife Ganga has already gone there (when rajini is out of station) he can also go to chandramukhi's room and see what is really happening. After all he is also unbeliever of ghost.
4. It is unclear why the grandma of Malavika try to kill Rajini with the help of her servant. And right from beginning of the film it is shown as if they are challenging each other with no reason.
5. If Ganga (jothika) tries to kill some one for some reason then she can drama like catching up of fire in her saree so that no one doubts her. But it is chandramukhi who wants to kill prabhu, and the blame will automatically go to Ganga if it is done so, who has opened the chandramukhi's room door. Why should chandramukhi try to safeguard Ganaga?
6. Can a snake live several years in a dark room without any prey, air and sunlight?
7. In one track the story goes as if Ganga is affected right from childhood that is why she is behaving like this. The movie would have been good if they had maintained only this track. In the another track it is shown as if Chandramukhi ghost is really existing. ( that is why it is shown that the snake is going out of the palace once chandramukhi takes revenge, the needle of wall clock is rotating and the pots are getting broken automatically).
8. No weightage is given in the story of Chandramukhi. It is told only by poojari in the temple simply by words. The actual scenes should have been picturised and shown in initial first 10 minutes before title. Beacuse that is the backbone of the story.
9. Will only one fellow paint such huge palace while renovating. Senthil ( Prabhu) is a building contractor and he can bring hundreds of his labours to renovate the old palace. During renovation they can casually open the room of chandramukhi with the group of people. ( Remember, the buyer Senthil is unbeliever of ghost and he can go and live in the palace only after renovation).
10. Dr. Saravanan ( Rajini) tells prabhu that he has read the story of chandramukhi in library and confirms that there is no problem living in that place. But after going to that palace he also believes that chandramughi ghost is existing there, which spoils the character as psychiatrist. He justifies this by telling that some times childs will talk like older etc.
The film's already been made in Kannada… the film's already been seen…and the director is such an experienced man… P Vasu could be astounded by these explanations. But he should surely have noticed all these bloomers. Or did he think that a Rajini can veer the attention away from such matters?
Looking at Chandramukhi's success, that could be just the case!
