Karthk as a villain in Sivalingam I.P.S.- A shooting visit

  By:   Palaniswamy

Karthik

When we dropped in at a house in Valsaravakkam, a shot was being taken with Rajkapur, Karthik, Anandraj, T.P.Gajendran, G.M. Kumar and new face Stella.

Was it Karthik? He has completely changed. He appeared as the young and energetic Karthik of the bygone days of Ullathai Allitha' period.

Karthik Aanandaraj Anandraj was acting as the MLA, Gm.Kumar as the police officer, and T.P.Gajendran as the Minister. After that shot was over, Rajkapur started explaining the next shot to Karthik. By then it was 1.30 PM and Rajkapur announced lunch break. The mood changed for the artistes and technicians and they started relaxing.

Director Rajkapur joined us." Sivalingam IPS is a challenging picture for me. I have already given a hit film 'Chinna Jamin' with Karthik. I and Sathyaraj, again is a winning combination. Our joint effort 'Vallal' was a great hit. Now, combining those two, I have vowed to give bigger hit than 'Chinna Jamin' and 'Vallal' put together." said Rajkapur passionately. Going by his feelings, we are very confident that he will succeed in his objective.

Karthik, Rajkapoor Our work done with Rajkapur, we entered Karthik's caravan. "I am doing a role unexpected by the audience in 'Sivalingam IPS'. This will film will be a turning point in my career. I really enjoy doing this character. I liked the character in the Malayalam movie I wanted to do this character and I have a good understanding with director Rajkapur" said Karthik fervently.

We asked "how come you have cone through a sudden change? Did you go through some herbal treatment? It is fashionable for our heroes to go to Kerala for such treatment. "That is a secret. But is the result OK?" smiled away Karthik.

Karthik, Rajkapoor When it struck 2, the unit got into frenzied activity. The shot in which the Minister, T.P.Gajendran, MLA Anandraj, Police Officer G.M.Kumar and the New face Stella come to Karthik's house and conduct negotiations was filed my cameraman Balamurugan. Then we took leave.

The Sathyaraj-Karthik starrer Sivalingam IPS produced by Sundari Films is a re-make of the Malayalam hit 'Bharatchandran IPS. Directed by the well reputed Ranji Panikkar, helped reshape the career of Suresh Gopi at a time when he went through a bad patch. Unnecessary songs and isolated comedy scenes are the bane of Tamil films. It is learnt that they have avoided such things in 'Sivalingam IPS'. Will 'Sivalingam IPS' excel the accomplishment of 'Bharatchandran IPS'?
