Good cinema should influence the society. Cheran’s ‘Thavamaai Thavamirundhu’ has done much more than that.
It is interesting to note how popular media has reacted to the film. The film is appreciated for its lack of obscenity, double meaning dialogues and fights. It’s not to say that any film without these ingredients is a good film. One could even think that they have added Cheran’s film to chastity, morality and patriotism kind of films.
The reasons are that any criticism is met with severe opposition. Cheran is infuriated without reason by a review on the Internet. More than appreciation, it is criticisms that point out the mistakes that help to polish an artiste. Many errors that escape a viewer’s eye lost in watching the film, is pointed out by the critics.
